When a desk must stay disconnected, balances still move — through people, paper, and labeled media. The Air-Gapped Balance Log is a structured way to record those moves so a later reviewer can rebuild the story without guessing.
What belongs in the log
- Opening seal The figure everyone agrees existed before movements began, plus who witnessed it.
- Movement stubs Short lines for inbound or outbound amounts with codes that stay unique across a shift.
- Close mark A lightweight integrity note — often a hash or cross-total — written before the room opens to network tools again.
Where teams struggle
